Commander's Welcome
Welcome to the web site of Edwards AFB Composite Squadron 84 of California Wing, Civil Air Patrol (CAP). Squadron 84 serves Edwards Air Force Base and the surrounding Southern California High Desert area.
Squadron 84's current primary focus is on building its Cadet Program into an excellent leadership development experience for area youth with interests in aerospace and military life. CAP cadet membership is open to young people from 12-18 years of age. Once they've joined CAP, cadets may remain in the cadet program until their 21st birthday. Cadets develop their skills and abilities in the areas of Leadership, Aerospace Education, Physical Fitness, and Character in order to progress through the Cadet Program.
Squadron 84 is also recruiting Senior Members (age 18 and up) who are interested in serving their community through participation in CAP's Emergency Services, Aerospace Education, and Cadet Program missions. The squadron's emergency services goal is to field one or more mission capable search aircrews, a ground team, and an urban direction finding team.
We encourage anyone interested in CAP membership to attend one of our meetings. Squadron 84 meets every Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Building 1850, 315 E. Forbes Avenue, Edwards AFB, CA. Visitors from off base without existing base access will need to contact the squadron in advance to arrange for a visitor pass.
